Every other mmo online has farming. Why would you mess it up? I have seen allot of people already a few hours after the update saying that they are going to go to wow or a diff mmo. I can see how you guys would want to make the money balanced, but now people are going to look for alternative ways to get money for the "high end" equipment i.e. eBay. I just don't understand why you would mess it up. So many people are probably going to leave because that was the only thing they liked to do. I myself am one of them. I used to play wow, Diablo, and Diablo II. I quit those games because I got tired of fighting monsters over and over and still never getting anything good. That was the appeal of this game. The build to farm was easy and after doing it enough I got the hang of it. This
is how I was able to start a guild and afford to make decent char to play. I may play this game for a while more but then after I get bored with it I will probably go back to a different game. It makes me sad I have spent so many hours playing this game and enjoyed every minute of it. And now it seems that it was all just time wasted getting enough money to buy equipment and runes. Now it is just going to go to waste because I won't be able to use it. I am not sure if I will even attempt the second chapter of this game because of all of this. I don't make enough money in real life to waste on eBay buying gold so I can buy weapon upgrades and fissure armor or even armor from grotto or citadel. I guess you do have hopes that it will drive prices for things down but it is still
going to be much more then the average player will be able to afford. As I have said at the begging of this letter every mmo has farming. Why go and mess up something that doesn’t even need messed with?

Farming is boring. Figure out a new way. My warrior can still do it without using AoE. He never did and never will. Figure out a new way.

Please stop crying. Find another way to farm, try doing the quests for a change.
Also, nobodys going anywhere these whiners never got more value in any other game in their lives. Not only will they be back for chapter 2, but they wil be back for chapter 1 tonight or tomorrow as soon as they get off work/school or home from the bar/party tonight. These guys arn't going anywhere.

Good job Mioga.

I think these are the answers you are looking for....

Buffed AI to stamp out the majority of botters who largely use AoE to farm insane amounts of gold.

Made rangers, mesmers, necro's and "other elements" jump inside the box...since people are incapable of thinking outside of it.

Now most players are on an equal footing since AoE is as good as dead.

Trappers just went down the porciline ficture... is Anet anti rangers or something? seems like every update nerfs them or affects them somehow... even when targeted at another class... R/N used to be a good build... now I cannot kill anything... Yes i have tried changing secondary but with the skill cost increase it is a waste of my money to pay 1k a skill when i could build a new character and get them all from quests.
Another thing is after I have all my skills for my lvl 20 char xp just became completley useless... my primary character has almost 900k xp... what am I going to do with all of that?

A good player will never frustrated by changes, they are adapted changes quickly, but think about average game player, they enjoy what they do even if you think it is a boring activity. If ANet think this game is meant for PRO player, then they should add monthly fee to it. If ANet think this game meant for wide range of players, they need to ensure both PRO and Average player are happy to play.

why play a game with terrible ai? whats the point? they made tha ai more realistic and everybody is complaining. heres my open letter to anet:

Sorry that I quoted your post, didn't really meant to against your statement for "Farming is boring". I just want ANet to think their game direction, it seems changing a bit compare to what it started with in my opinion.

Only reason people say farming is boring, and it's good that they took that away, is because they could never get drops, nor money, and they are newbs and don't know how to play real rpgs games, farming is a part of games and life, get over it :l

Erm I farm. I get good drops. But farming isn't the entire game. And in case you weren't here for the plenty of other patches, farming will always find a way around supposed nerfs. People already have non AoE ideas. Farming is still possible man. =\

Farming is slower and annoying, and playing a ele is impossible, how is it that they are gonna run away from you when they attack, for god sake it's a war and they are running away... never knew we were fighthing cowards, and about farming, MMO's always have a way to farm, now that they changed it stuff is gonna be expensive and then u guys will start crying, gG? no rm..

So if you're playing your elementalist and some Ice Fiend outside Drok's/Ice Caves casts Maelstrom on you you're just going to stand there and take it? Come on now, you'd move!
